Katrina Cuenca’s abstractions take center stage in a collection that reflects her ongoing exploration of material and form. Through layered textures, controlled gestures, and a restrained palette, she constructs compositions that invite contemplation, balancing precision with spontaneity. Each piece lingers between the deliberate and the intuitive, offering a moment’s pause amid the inevitable noise.
For this exhibition, Cuenca contrasts muted pastels with reflective metal leaf, creating an interplay of light and shadow that suggests movement beneath the surface. This shifting luminosity recalls organic forms in flux—petals unfurling, water shimmering, structures dissolving and reforming. The result is subtle yet assertive, where softness meets structure and depth is carefully built through her meticulous process.
Gilded Visions marks an evolution in her practice. Each piece is both a resolution and a threshold, capturing a refinement of technique while hinting at future possibilities.
