Exhibition Date: 24 May - 21 June, 2024
Kate Contemporary brings together Filipino artists Marc Aran Reyes, Arce, Arnold Lalongisip, SAIS, JM Saycon, GNCH, and AR Manalo in exploring the multiple facets of realism, abstraction, and pop surrealism as they investigate beyond familiar borders and navigate new territories of artistic expression.
"Boundless Terrain" highlights the diverse transition of these domains and investigates the inherent nature of technique and foundation manifested in each contemporary style. The collection of works encompasses monochromatic and surreal landscapes, vivid and highly textured sculptural elements, and motifs of expressive facial features and figurative abstraction. As these artists immerse themselves into a self-meditative process of creation, engage in personal sentiments, and anchor to individual core values, the exhibition evokes a multitude of perspectives in the deconstruction and reconstruction of themes, finding the balance between strength and fragility, and awareness and intuition, encapsulating a holistic view of one's introspection.
Collectively, the artists and their respective oeuvres continue to urge and engage the art community in constructive and prolific dialogs, nationally and globally, resonating through significant artistic strides across the contemporary art terrain.
